Scenario You have decided to follow your dream and start a small business as a freelance photographer, graphics designer and animator.
An old family friend has heard of your idea and has offered to help support you with start-up investment on favourable terms. However, she needs to be convinced that you know what you are doing. Therefore, your potential investor has asked you to prepare information that demonstrates you are fully aware of the legal requirements of making, editing and using graphics; she also requires you to explain what you know about animation and how this might lead to potential future work.
Task 1 Explain what you know about the potential legal implications of creating, editing and using graphics for photography, animation, gaming and website use.
Evidence you must produce for this task A series of interesting posters that will demonstrate all your investor needs to know about using graphical images, to ensure they are used correctly – e.g. identifying ownership, copyright, copyright free, royalties, royalty free, gaining permissions etc.
