It aims to improve care service within the NHS particularly to alleviate mortality rate in the ICU. The wireless wrist watch works wirelessly by sending data of the patients to the monitor for the clinicians analyse the results and send it to the doctors. The data is stored on the computer permanently for future examination. The wireless wrist watch is adaptable non-invasive and very easy to apply on. It is applicable to adult and children in the intensive care. It is first aimed to enhance health care in London hospitals. 2. Business overview The name of the company is M.A.N, the business name represent the initials of the medical physiologist students behind the invention the watch. The reason we came up with the idea of designing the wireless wrist watch is because of numerous incidents occurring in the intensive care ward in the United Kingdom for instance; Unconscious patient getting out of the wards, blood pressure elevating and insufficient number of nurses or doctors to help or look after patients. To overcome these incidents and to provide better quality including service to every ward, supplying hospitals with the wireless wrist watch will reduce the amount of incident occurring every year. Current competition The partners involved in the team are both trained medical physiologists, with intensive skills, knowledge and qualifications in planning and engineering skills. We have work on our passion to create a diminutive watch that will measure patient’s heart rate, blood pressure and pulsed rate and instantly send the data to the clinicians to be analysed. If there’s anything erroneous the clinicians and doctors will take action simply by perceiving the data wirelessly on the computer. This will save time, less paper work and most importantly save a lot of patient’s life. Competitive advantage Similar aspects can be found in some medical and sport magazines and some of which we have gained insight from. However there design watch are limited and cannot be integrated into hospital environment and bring science to life as we aim. We also have a different vision. Therefore, we believe that there is worth in this unique direction which we seek to take to design the wireless wrist watch. Growth Plan For the moment the wireless wrist watch is design only for patient in the intensive care unit; however in time we would like to fabricate it for all the patients in the hospital. 3. Business Strategies To meet the cost we have planned first to sell the watch to all hospitals in London and hopefully the following year we will be able to provide the watch to all hospital in the United Kingdom. £100.000 initial investment request • Engineering involved £50.000 • Technology used : 15.000 • Printer that produces hard copy of data: £10.000 • Memory (number of recordings): £10.000 • Chip backup (Nano chip): £5.000 • Maintenance and Fees: £10.000 Strategic issues • New market entrants • Change in customer tastes or needs • New regulations • Economic downturn • Competitive prices Core Values • Changeable straps, customized themes (especially for children). • Free supply 4.
