Assignment title: Information
problematic work or non-work experience/event to relevant theoretical course content covered in weeks 1-7.
Assignments should be in the range of 1500 words for Part 1 and 2500 words for part two – excluding
appendices and bibliography but including in-text citations.
Part 1: Apply relevant course concepts and theory to explain what happened. Do not simply describe what
happened be sure to explain it with respect to unit theory and content. Simple description will score low
marks. (15 marks)
Part 2 Apply relevant unit concepts and theory to suggest how the situation might have been managed
differently or how a different more positive outcome might have been achieved. For this part of the
assignment, for example, you might draw on unit content to explain how the person or persons involved in the
situation might have made more effective decisions or how they might have behaved differently. (20 marks)
This assignment must be submitted via Turnitin. You will be assessed on your use of relevant unit content
including theory and theoretical concepts. A key component of this assignment is to demonstrate clear and
robust understanding of how the event or series of events you are discussing connect to theory and concepts
covered in the unit. Simple description of an event will score poorly. Assignments lacking demonstrated
analysis and theoretical application will also score poorly. Your style of expression will also be evaluated
(including grammar and spelling). You must use the Chicago 16 Referencing system. Assignments that use
references inaccurately will be penalized accordingly. The use of Wikipedia online encyclopedia is
discouraged.
You will be provided with feedback on your performance in the assignment through Blackboard under ‘My
Grades’ in order to facilitate further development of your learning. as compared to USA
