You are Quality officer in lands & properties department. You have given a task to improve an important project in department. In order to do that, you have to use the quality techniques below:
Learning curve, p-chart, pareto chart, fishbone and inventory management
The project contains 56,418 land files. The project’s mail goal is to update the physical files from 1980 till 2016 and update all the files data in the electronic system. Updating files contains the following:
• Complete the file’s missing documents.
• Updating the information of manual file into system
• Link the owner name with land number, location, city,..etc
The project started on 11-10-2016 and the end date is 31-12-2017. The projects members are as follow:
• 16 employees doing the updating
• 4 employees supervising and doing the statistics and verification for entered data.
• 1 head of the project.
The manager of the department found that the work is very slow and there is risk that project will not finish on time. A survey has been given to teams in order to check the reason behind this delay. And their reasons were as below:
1) Lack of knowledge about how to update the files.
2) Not given enough training to do the task.
3) Some files are old and the papar content is unclear.
4) Some of them have breathing problems and can’t check the old files because of dusts.
5) Some computers are old and they are very slow.
6) Limitation of paper print due to organization policy that related to reduce the usage of paper (suitability purposes) and they require to print some date from the system in order to keep it in the manual file.
7) Uncooperative employees
8) No recognition or motivation system.
As you are the quality officer, you choose to start first by using “learning curve” techniques based in report information below, where you took the information from the first week in project. Sample is 10 employees and sample size is 20 files during 5 working days.
In this report you will do the following:
First technique: learning curves:
1) Use learning curve techniques in order to enhance the productivity. You should explains the result of information given in table 1 attached and whether the project will be end on time if

Forth technique: fishbone
1) Draw fishbone (case-effect diagram) based on survey results.

Fifth technique: Inventory
The project contains 56,418 files and they have to be filed in new paper file and there are no room in store to keep all this paper files. What is your suggestion by using inventory management- kanban management.
