•This assignment asks you to choose and examine a curriculum document (as above and in Assessment folder marked Assignment 1b). The marking criteria is available at vUWS in the Assessment folder for Assignment 1B and the rubric image is provided below under Assessment Standards.
•A minimum of 4 readings from Concepts 1-4 MUST be cited PLUS Rizvi.
The purpose is to demonstrate your knowledge of cosmopolitan learning principles. As a reminder, the following is based on Rizvi’s article (2006) and is here to prompt your analysis. Cosmopolitan Learning:
1.Is concerned with how pedagogy might produce a critical understanding of global configurations of economic and cultural exchange.
2.Encourages students to examine the political meaning of intercultural experiences, seeking to locate them within the transnational networks.
3.Develops a critical global imagination.
4.Is not concerned so much with imparting knowledge and developing attitudes and s******s for understanding other cultures per se, but with helping students examine the ways in which global processes are creating conditions of economic and cultural exchange.
Encourages reflexive thinking.
