Your final assessment (Assessment 5) requires you to have gathered lessons learnt throughout the course, about your experience as students within this subject (not lessons learnt for the project described in the tender). Best practice indicates it is best to collect lessons throughout the project rather than just at the end. For Assessment 5, the project is the subject ‘PPMP20008’, your group will be the project team. To do well in this final assessment you will have to start identifying lessons learnt now. Don’t worry about collecting too many, you can decide closer to the time what you will include in the material presented. Getting started with lessons learnt To assist in identifying lessons, first think about what the best way (what framework) to do this is. Think about when you will collect them; how will you collect them, what tools and techniques that you will use; and who you collect them from. Have a look at the feedback that each member got on their first assessment. It is important to consider what worked well and what could be improved. Ensure that you don’t make the same errors that were identified by the marker. Were there any positive aspects that the marker specifically identified? If so, is it possible to ensure that this positive aspect is continued in this next assessment? You will have to identify lessons learnt about the process of being a student in this subject. It is a good idea to start collecting these lessons early. Assessment 2 You are to develop a scope baseline, a work package, a schedule baseline and a stakeholder register. These are four separate documents, they need to be reflective of the project described in the selected tender and align to the requirements of the PMBoK and Prince2. Title Page Include a title page at the beginning of each assessment item with the following information: • Student name/s (include names of all students in group for group assessments – 2, 3 & 5) • Student number/s (include number of all students in group for group assessments) • The project domain and name • The document name (e.g. Charter, Scope Baseline etc.) Criteria You are required to apply your knowledge of project management concepts when developing the four documents mentioned in the criteria below. Make sure you develop the document described as if you were planning the project. Do not submit a report discussing what that document is. Assessment Criteria Allocated marks Appropriate application of the following project management concepts in the development of a project charter for the project described in the selected tender. 1 The project management concepts within the scope baseline are correctly applied and the scope baseline is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. 5 2 The project management concepts within the work package are correctly applied and the work package is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. 5 3 The project management concepts within the schedule baseline are correctly applied and the schedule baseline is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. 5 4 The concepts within the stakeholder register are correctly applied and the stakeholder register is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. 5 Total Marks 20 Ensure your submissions are submitted in an appropriate format, are concise, demonstrate clarity of expression, and correct grammar and spelling. Assessments provide the opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to achieve the required standard. To do this, assessment responses need to be both clear and easy to understand. If not, the University cannot determine that students have demonstrated their knowledge and skills. Assessments will, therefore, be marked accordingly including the potential for 0 (zero) marks where relevant. Assessment 2 Marking Rubric 0 marks 1 mark 2 marks 3 marks 4 marks 5 marks The following rubric relates to the ‘document’ listed in each of the assessment criteria and should be read in conjunction with the criteria. The four documents include: 1. Scope Baseline 2. Work Package 3. Schedule Baseline 4. Stakeholder Register Note: Referencing must be included in the project documents, including referencing tender documents. The rubric refers to poor referencing. The absence of references may be taken to be plagiarism and could result in academic misconduct penalties being applied. The document was not supplied and/or what was provided did not relate to the assessment. The document is neither clear nor easy to understand. Less than 25% of the project management concepts within the document are included and/or appropriate application was demonstrated in less than 25% of the required concepts. The document is a reasonably accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. Improvements may be required in the formatting, referencing, grammar and/or spelling. If so the student should seek assistance from the ALC. Between 25% and 50% of the project management concepts within the document are included and/or appropriate application was demonstrated in between 25% and 50% of the required concepts. The document is a reasonably accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. Improvements may be required in the formatting, referencing, grammar and/or spelling. If so the student should seek assistance from the ALC. The project management concepts within the document are mostly included and/or appropriate application was demonstrated in the majority of the required concepts. The document is a reasonably accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. Formatting, referencing, grammar and spelling are reasonable, some improvements may be needed. The project management concepts within the document are all included and any errors in application are few and minor. The document is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. Formatting, referencing, grammar and spelling are well done. Any issues are few and minor. The project management concepts within the document are all included and correctly applied. The document is an accurate reflection of the project described in the selected tender. Formatting, referencing, grammar and spelling are excellent. Any issues could be interpreted as typographical in nature and are rare within the document.
