Outline Assignment Task: Focusing on an organisation which you are familiar with and through the application of continuous improvement concepts, models and theories, decision making models and information knowledge; either: • Evaluate the service and make recommendations on how the service could be improved • Evaluate current improvement activities, critiquing the improvement activity and making recommendations on how, in future the improvement activities could be handled better. • Evaluate a recent but completed improvement project, critiquing the improvement activity and making recommendations on how, future improvement projects could be handled better. This assignment takes the form of a 5,000 word management report. You should assume the role of an external consultant how has been employed to advise the strategic management team on how they can overcome and/or improve the operational aspects/issues and their approach to decision making and the use of information systems. Guidelines You must to apply continuous improvement theories, concepts and tools/techniques, decision making concepts/models and information systems concepts. Diagrams and personalised figures and data analysis are encouraged. Some organisational behaviour theories/concepts may be useful around the area of culture and leadership but should not constitute a significant part of your report. This assessment is to measure primarily the learning outcomes relating to continuous improvement concepts/theories, decision making models/theory and management information systems. The written submission must be word processed using a standard font (eg Arial, Times New Roman, min size 12) to a word length of 5,000 words.
