For the purposes of this assignment you should select your own organization or an organization you are familiar, with for analysis. Access to the information required to undertake a suitable analysis in order to answer the assignment questions is a prerequisite.
1. Provide a critical evaluation of the organisation’s current strategic management process and evaluate the extent to which this process complies with the requirements of a comprehensive, integrated strategic management process by doing the following:
a. Undertake a situation analysis of the organisation. Identify trends and forces related to the major internal and external factors relevant to the organisation and its industry. (20 marks)
b. In what way have these trends and forces influenced the organisation’s strategy over the past five years? Explain the implications fully. (10 marks)
c. What are the strengths of the current strategy? What weaknesses or shortcomings currently exist? Substantiate your findings. (20 marks).
2. Clearly identify, describe and extrapolate those factors or forces (both internal and external environments) that you consider to be strategically important, five years into the future, outlining their significance, and explaining their strategic implications for the organisation. Substantiate your findings. (20 marks)
3. Recommend the strategic actions that the organisation should implement in terms of your findings above. (30 marks)
