Information on academic misconduct in assignments
Make sure you know what is meant by collusion, cheating and plagiarism. Claiming you did not know you were in breach of academic integrity rules will not be an accepted defense.

Academic integrity and the automated 'turn-it-in' reporting used in MGT5000
The 'turn-it-in' plugin has been set up for this assignment to allow us to check for originality.
What this means for you:
As the turn-it-in plug-in is an automatic process, there is nothing extra you need to do to generate a turn-it-in originality report.
A turn-it-in originality report will be generated automatically when you submit your assignment to the "submit assignment 2 via this link".
You may view the report, BUT it can take up to 24 hours to generate. Therefore, if you wish to view the report and possibly edit your assignment, it is recommended that you submit your assignment several days before the due date. (It stands to reason that if you do not wish to pre-view the originality report, then you are free to submit your assignment on the due day.)
The assignment submission link is set so that you can re-submit your assignment file with a new file until 11:59 pm USQ time on the due date.
IMPORTANT - Requiring extra time to generate an originality report for your own purposes will not be grounds to seek an extension. This limitation extends to any delays or system failures to produce the report.
The opportunity to let you see the report prior to submission is a privilege that has been provided at your course examiner's discretion.
What is (not) counted in the report:
The matter of the assignment template, which includes the marking evaluation sheet, has been taken into account and the system has been set to ignore 20% of similarities in the assignment, to cater for the template and other minor overlaps such as those that typically occur in the list of references.
How to access your originality report:
Click on the assignment activity link and you will see a similarity percentage in a highlighted box, next to your submission. You can click on this percentage and the originality report will open. You can choose to download the report by clicking on a print icon located at the bottom left of the originality report page. You will not be sent an alert that the report is available, so you will need to check the assignment link intermittently to see if the report is ready.
What if I a get a similarity percentage in my Turn-it-In report?
Similarity percentages in the first instance are not assumed to be the result of collusion or plagiarism and we assess the information provided by the report that identifies the original source of the information. Although a tolerance has been set of 20%, if a student's paper even marginally exceeds that 20%, then the system ignores the 20% tolerance and will count all similarities. Therefore, it is quite possible to have a similarity percentage that might surprise you. You have the same access to the turn-it-in report that we do, so you can check for yourself where the similarity is coming from.
Where we think we may have identified cases of collusion and(or) plagiarism we will follow USQ's protocols on academic misconduct. This link takes you to these procedures: https://www.usq.edu.au/library/referencing/what-is-plagiarism/detection-and-consequences
