To obtain your grade for this course there are 2 final assignments:
1: Group Assignment, counting for 40%
Make a HR-analysis of one organisation leading to recommendations to improve the HR-strategy, HRpractices and HR-outcomes following theory as came up in class.
Other theories and insights may be used if well documented, motivated and applicable.
- Length +- 10 A4 (excl frontpage and references)
Content:
- Front page: name of the company, names of students, id’s, title and date
- Introduction of the company: Size, primary activities, location(s), mission, general
description, allocation and role of HR
- Analysis of the company following the six-components model
- Analysis of HR following the KSP-method in the company leading to challenges/problems to
be solved
- Drawing up a HR-ScoreCard, including HR-perspectives, Objectives, Measures,Targets and
Initiatives
- Proposing recommendations to improve HR (Strategy, practices and outcomes) based on
previous analysis, forecasting outcomes and designing a control and follow-up system
- Ethical reflection on effects of recommended initiatives
- List of references
2: Personal Assignment, Reflection Paper, counting for 60%
Make a reflective paper about the content and the process of the group assignment
Length: +- 5 pages (excl. frontpage and references)
Content:
- Frontpage: title, name/id, date
- Short summary of the group paper
- Reflection on theory: what did you find strong and what not about the theory, motivate this!
What are your lessons learned?
- Reflection on the group process (cooperation, outcomes) what and why was in it for you,
what are your lessons learned?
- Reflection on the recommendations: Do you believe in those recommendations? (motivate)
- Ethical personal reflection on one of the effects of the recommendations, using the van
Luijk’s 7-steps-method
