Examine various print and broadcast media including newspapers, periodicals, magazines, radio and television programs, the Internet etc. and select three items relating to water quality related problems in the environment. Note that only media items published on or broadcasted after 1 September 2015 may be used for this assignment. Avoid selecting only internet articles, but rather try to present a range of media types. Inclusion of a radio or TV broadcast would be particularly commendable.

Present three examples of the information gathered in your report, addressing such questions as:

 the water quality problems highlighted in these messages,

 their success in conveying a message,

 who or what is the original source of the information,

 the use of the particular media item as a tool for information or persuasion.

Then try to draw some general conclusions regarding the messages that are conveyed by the media, and how effective these are likely to be in influencing people's opinions and behaviour. In particular try to draw together your observations of the three media articles you have chosen.

Include copies of all printed media articles in an appendix to your assignment (there is no need to do this for radio and television broadcasts).
