Brat Electronics Ltd is a small manufacturer of electronics-based products. The
operations manager realises that a shop floor re-layout is well overdue. The facility
manufactures seven products and a table summarising the operation sequences of
these products is given below.

a) Using structured layout planning techniques (travel chart, work centre
relationship analysis and the materials handling cost equation), prepare a
process layout proposal which is safe and attempts to minimise the materials
flow between work centres – neatly drawn to scale and labelled.
b) Prepare a brief report indicating and illustrating the factors you have
considered and the contribution of the analysis you have undertaken.
c) Explain the challenges associated with cellularising this facility.
