Focusing on an investigation of significant topics in the international human resource management field, students critically apply theories, principles and methodologies to analyse the literature and to justify well-supported conclusions. Assessment Criteria Five criteria will be used: • Research (30%) • Structure (10%) • Argument (40%) • Writing (10%) • Referencing (10%) Research: Use a wide range of academic, scholarly sources all of which are current and relevant. A number of sources are from top tier journals and include complex concepts and analysis. Evidence of high understanding and comprehensive knowledge of relevant issues. Structure: Answer to a very high level. Essay should be logically structured with clear connection between each paragraph and section. Paragraphs should be integrated and arguments should be well-organised. Inroduction should be clear and logical that sets out the essay. Evidence of synthesis and drawing together of main parts in conclusion. Argument: Demonstrate superior knowledge of theory and application to practical example. Also, demonstrate superior use of evidence and include an evaluation of evidence. Link quotations appropriately to argument. Writing: Demonstrate outstanding clarity and written expression. Use academic language to construct argument and analyses. Referencing: Demonstrate high level of awareness in presentation of citation. Make effective use of citations to support arguments. Demonstrate mastery in presentation of reference list.
