This assessment item requires you to consider:-
earned value management
…you must then undertake earned value reporting for a selected case study. The case studies will be supplied for a range of project domains:-
Engineering and construction domain,
Telecommunications and IT domain,
Software development domain,
Financial and business services domain,
Welfare domain.
The earned value reporting must meet the minimum requirement outlined in the PMBOK (2013) and conform to the requirements of the progress evaluation techniques (p.108) outlined in Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 (2009).
Task
Your task is to consider the overview above and write earned value and S-curve reports. You will be graded upon how well your earned value and S-curve reports have been completed and reflect information from the case studies.
Purpose
The primary purpose of this assessment item is to help you to develop skills in the contents and compilation of earned value and S-curve reports.
The secondary purpose of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to consider the role of progress evaluation techniques and control within a project life cycle.
The assignment will also give you the opportunity to enhance your analysis and written communication skills; particularly in the areas of rigorous structured assignment writing.
Structure
Your submission may use the supplied templates; however you may also use alternate forms should you choose. You should complete all of the required parts of the earned value and S-curve reports in a manner as you deem appropriate. The instruction boxes in the
templates that state they should be deleted must be deleted

Your assignment will be assessed on the extent and quality to which it meets each of the following criteria.
A complete earned value report is supplied? (20%)
A complete S-curve report is supplied? (20%)
The earned value report is an accurate reflection of the case study? (20%)
The S-curve report is an accurate reflection of the case study? (20%)
Appropriate and well structured, concise and clear expression of project management arguments in response to the assessment task? (10%)

…you must then develop both for a selected case study. The case studies, a project charter template, and a stakeholder register template will be supplied for a range of project domains:-

The project charter must meet the minimum requirement outlined in the PMBOK (2013) and conform to the requirements of the project mandate outlined in Directing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 (2009).
The stakeholder register must meet the minimum requirement outlined in the PMBOK (2013) and conform to the requirements of the stakeholder analysis and interests outlined in Directing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 (2009).
