Assignment title: Information

There has been a perceptible trend in the last twenty years for firms to experiment with new models of organisation and governance, in effect eschewing Fordism in favour of models inspired by the "Silicon Valley model" and other flexible business model systems, demonstrating there is no longer one kind of business model that can be equated with success and efficiency across all sectors and in all countries

1. Demonstrates an appreciation of the business model concept and develops a coherent set of arguments that fully addresses the essay question

2. Defines key terms intelligently, drawing on the literature, including the terms business models, Fordism, Silicon Valley model; and puts the business model concept into an appropriate historical context

3. Identifies three elements of a successful "Silicon Valley" (or flexible) business model and provides a good example to describe those elements

4. Explains how the elements identified contributed to the example's success, highlighting how this can be differentiated from the elements that contributed to success in a Fordism organisational context previously

5. Concludes by summarising key arguments, including their implications; these arguments are well-structured and masterfully articulated, integrating the theory well while demonstrating an appreciation of the challenges faces by managers in real life organisations
