Project Requirements: 1. Derive the small-signal model of the Kundur's four-machine two-area test system based on the example "Performance of Three PSS for Interarea Oscillations" in Matlab/Simulink. The small-signal model consists of a set of system equations linearized at a specific operation point. Use the same operation point and the corresponding system parameters provided by the Simulink example to derive the small-signal model. 2. Obtain the eigenvalues/eigen vectors/participation factors of the derived small-signal model and analyze the oscillation characteristics of the system. 3. Discuss the small-signal stability of the system by increasing different parameters or generated active/reactive power. Verify the small-signal stability limit obtained from the derived small-signal model by running the simulation file of the example system in Simulink. 4. Document all the above requirements in a word file and submit the word file as well as your Matlab files calculating stability limits and running system simulations.
