Assessment weighting: 60% Word count: as necessary to document your development process Detailed Specification Main Scenario: Cheswick Green House (CGH) is a farm just outside London, growing fresh fruits and vegetables all year around and is famous for the unique experience it offers to the people who visit. At CGH farm, you are invited to pick your own fruits and vegetables from a vast range of seasonal produce. It started from only a fruit and vegetable garden three generations back, and now that the family business has expanded the premises offers a lot more, like a fresh produce farm shop, garden plants and equipment, restaurant, dessert bar with indoor and outdoor play areas for kids. The management has now decided to bring their business online and launch their own mobile app. They have contacted the digital consultancy firm, "Golden Design" for which you work, and they want you to design and create mobile app that is mainly focusing on smart phones devices but also adaptive to laptops and desktop machines. The app should look professional, user friendly and supports usability and accessibility features. To this end; you will design, develop, document and test a mobile app for Cheswick Green House farm that should include: App Design 1. A simple yet professional looking graphical user interface (GUI). 2. Multiple views or pages (minimum five) such as home, about us, contact us, gallery, news and table of products pages. a. All versions should have suitable titles, images, texts and navigation links. b. User should be able to view pictures of main fruits offered around the farm organised in a gallery of images. c. Business hours should be displayed in a table. d. A contact form to receive queries from customers. e. Contact area (contact form and preferably address map pulled from Google Map or similar). 3. Wireframes (screen blueprint) as a visual guide to represent the skeletal framework of your different versions (desktop, tablet and mobile, basic wireframes for each is introduced in Appendix A). a. The tablet version and the desktop version should include at least a header section, content section, side bar section and footer section. b. The smartphone version should be simple and include at least a header and content sections. 4. Your design should consider HCI principles and must demonstrate usability and accessibility features. App Implementation: You have to utilize your design in the previous task to build your mobile app using relevant technologies depending on your endorsed approach (e.g. if you decide to build a mobile web app then you should use html, CSS, JavaScript libraries and mobile frameworks). App Documentation: You have to test and document your work as follows: 1. Write a document justifying your decisions in the design of your app. 2. Explain how your design consider HCI principles, usability and accessibility. 3. Justify your responsive design decision (e.g. breakpoints selection). 4. Deploy your app online server or upload it to an app store and provide a link in your report. 5. Test your app (screenshots should be included in your report for each test). 6. Document your code appropriately.
