Assignment Questions
As an Event Manager you are required to develop a hypothetical event.
Suggested choices will be discussed in class with the Lecturers.
You must actively plan every aspect of your event including analysis, planning, implementation and performance evaluation (see Tum & Norton). The event will be assessed based upon the quality and innovation of the concept and the work undertaken (e.g. objectives, audience, budget, operational considerations, identification of risk) which will constitute 100% of your final grade.
The choice to create a weekly activity log incorporating all the appropriate techniques you have learned in your previous modules or approach the report as individual sections is optional. These might include (but are not limited to):
• Market research
• Objectives
• Budgeting
• Concept
• Project planning (including recognised frameworks)
• Risk assessment
• Feedback
An appropriate report format is required using the Harvard method. This is an individual assessment of 1500 words (+/-10%). The report must be submitted through the portal and turnitin.

Critical evaluation of concepts and frameworks relating to event planning and production.
Event Plan: To include appropriate analysis and justification for key aspects of the event plan. This will include but not exclusively: Situation analysis; Objectives; Target Audience; Budget; Operational considerations; Risk Assessment
Choice of selected venue and environment: Gives clear explanation for venue choice 35%
Event evaluation: Establishes clear approach to event evaluation and the role this will play in the planning process
Report
Activity Log: Capture of groups’ planning process and outcomes, to include but not exclusively explain and justify approach to: Budgeting; Project planning; Ticketing systems; Feedback Survey. This can include the blog.
