Assignment on OSD and Easement Drainage
This aim of this assignment is to design property drainage. The following should be
undertaken for the drainage design for the subdivision shown in the attached plan.
Design easement drainage to drain lots 1-8 and specify easement overland flow
path.
Design the OSD system using the UPRCT method.
Check 375 rcp pipe size from the OSD to the 600 mm rcp in the street. Relevant
levels are given in the diagram attached.
Present your results in the form of a printed report.
Design of the OSD should include plan and sections of the OSD, orifice details,
sedimentation pits, inspection pits (for underground OSD). Include all relevant
level information.
Check of 375 rcp pipe size from the OSD to the 600 mm rcp should include a
HGL analysis (done in DRAINS). Include information in your report about pit or
junction loss coefficients. Specify input data to DRAINS in tabular form
(summarize and not simply copy DRAINS output)
Note the report should only include sketches and calculations. Written
description of the design procedure is not required.
Student may email the assignment to [email protected]. The whole
assignment including sketches, diagrams etc, must be in one MSWORD or PDF
document so that it may be easily printed for marking. Otherwise a printed report
should be submitted in class.
This assignment is worth 25% of the course mark.
