Project-based Assignment-Part 2 (Individual Report)
In this part of the assignment the student is required to select one of two situations (either an under performing employee or a high performing employee) relating to the key position selected by the group in the Project-based Assignment - Part 1 (Group Report). The student is required to undertake a literature review and to report to on five aspects of the situation selected:
1. What the features of best practice in performance management are that would help the case study organization better manage the employee in the selected key position (the under performer or the high performer) ?
2. How should the case study organization's human resource development (HRD) function integrate with the organization's performance managaement function in order to assist in the better management of the employee in the selected key position?
3. What specific issues surround the management of 'underperformers' or 'high performers' that need to be taken into account generally in an effective performance management system and HRD function in the case study organization? 
4. How might the case study organization's reward management strategy fit into the solution offerred to the case study organization's management in relation to the key selected position and the organization more generally?
5. How in theory should the case study organization's human resource management function (HRD, performance management, reward management) support the organization's corporate strategies with respect to both under performing and high performing employees?
