Assessment Task You are a well-established and successful HR Manager within a reputable leisure services organisation. Alongside your role you have also set up your own HR Consultancy Service. You have recently been ‘head hunted’ by a struggling leisure organisation who would like your advice / support to help improve the efficiency of their workforce. They are having particular problems with the quality of staff they are recruiting which is resulting in poor retention (high staff turnover) and subsequently ineffective service provision. They have also had accusations of discrimination in the workplace and they have had to carry out staff disciplinary procedures on numerous occasions. You have been asked to write a report that provides a theoretical background applied to the key issues associated with HR management systems. This should include: - An introduction to the importance of the HRM legislative framework & the planning and application of associated policy and procedures - A brief overview of the HRM role (recruitment / training / performance management) - A detailed account focusing on ONE of the following HR roles applied to a leisure organisation/s of your choice (1) Recruitment & Selection OR (2) Training/ CPD and career progression OR (3) Performance management of the individual AND the organisation - Justified recommendations as to how the company should address issues going forward Due to the limitations on the word count you must be succinct in your report balancing ‘breadth’ and ‘depth’ of information.
