HRMG Rewards and performance Reflective Learning Journal 2000 words Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to learn about concepts of rewards and performance through reflection. Your learning journal will consist of three entries and a summary of learnings. Each entry will relate to a different week of the program. The content for reflection follows the teaching, readings and discussions in three of the weeks 3-7. Content of your learning journal A learning journal should focus on your personal responses, reactions and reflections to new ideas or new ways of thinking about a subject that you have been introduced through: • Lectures, tutorials, set readings, class discussions and case studies • Research and readings from high quality websites e.g. Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) • Conversations and discussions with other students, your lecturer, manager, mentor or work colleagues Requirements You are required to keep a journal as a record of your learning process. The journal will consist of reflections on material covered in each of three different weeks of the course program in weeks 4-7 (i.e. Weeks 4, 5, 6, 7). The topics are: • 4. Determining the structure of a remuneration and performance system: external considerations, including legislation 6. Benefits: should they be compulsory or voluntary? 7. Recognition schemes and individual rewards This is your chance to consider the content and either support or argue a perspective, rather than just accepting what has been delivered. Your personal experiences with the topics will play invaluable part of the process. Entries should be made after the relevant tutorials and record: Please commence your journal early, and not leave it until just before the due date when, depending on the lapse of time, reflection will be much more difficult. What to include: • Reflections and responses to materials covered in lectures and tutorials, readings and class exercises. • Reflections on learning in classes and its impact on existing views and opinions, other courses and students’ experiences generally in learning environments. • Consideration of the implications that specific material covered in class and in tutorial readings may have for professional practice. • Ideas related to your work, profession or courses you have undertaken • Interesting observations that lead to insightful questions or conclusions. • Lines of reasoning • Thoughtful questions, sometimes with suggested answers • Analysis of logic • Propositions • Opinions with justification and explanation Learning outcomes assessed: 1.
