One of these may be a difficult and competitive market situation, making it difficult for enterprises to function well. For instance, in order for a manufacturing company to keep its leading position, the firm has to set goals above the market average (Hendeson & Peirson, 2014; Kauffman & Tallon, 2015). Furthermore, operating expenses are increasing annually by 12 % (Deloitte, 2014), creating a significant financial burden for a firm. In addition, the company may find it difficult to find suitable store locations. According to Kalbar et al. (2014), while a firm may have attempted to find the most appropriate and convenient locations, due to its nature as manufacturing plant, it may still not succeed. Kanellou & Spathis (2013, p.12) claim that this factor has led to “lowering the company performance most”. It is clear therefore, that although there are multiple reasons for low performance, some are have higher impact than others. References Deloitte, T. (2014, Nov, 5).
