This assignment is based on the following case study (available on the course reading list):
Schooley, B., & Hikmet, N. (2013). Design of an Enterprise Architecture for Electronic Patient Care Record (ePCR) Information Exchange in EMS.
REQUIREMENTS
All questions are based on the Electronic Patient Care Record case study.
1) What are the main need(s) for an enterprise architecture in the case? 15 marks
a. identify 3-5 main needs (max 600 words)
2) Based on the need(s), define the architecture vision. 10 marks
Tip: This should be a statement of no more than 3 sentences that encapsulates the vision. It should include the scope of the architecture
Use the TOGAF framework to analyse and model an enterprise architecture for the case (use the Archi package).
Answer the following questions:
3) What are the main stakeholders and their concerns engaging in the architecture?
10 marks.
a. Produce a stakeholder matrix table for a maximum of eight stakeholders as shown in Table 7.2 (page 106) text book.
Tip: You may make some assumptions about some stakeholders that are not explicitly stated in the case. These assumptions need to be specified in your report.
4) Identify suitable business goals and produce a goal catalogue. 15 marks
a. Produce a goal diagram as shown in Figure 7.2 (page 111) text book.
Tip: Use the SMART technique to access the identified goals. Identify no more than 20 goals in your diagram.
b. Produce a goal catalogue using the business goals identified in the goal diagram as shown in Table 7.3 (page 114) text book.
5) Produce key documentation needed for the target Business Architecture. 30 marks
a. Actor organisation diagram (Figure 8.2, page 143) and Actor catalogue & Role diagrams for TWO actors (Figure 8.3, page 144).
b. Functional decomposition diagram (Figure 8.8, page 152).
c. Two business use case diagrams involving the actors selected in Part A (Figure 8.12, page 158).
Tip: You may make some assumptions on functions and use cases of the target Business Architecture, which need to be clearly specified in your report.
