For learners to consolidate the knowledge already gained in the course by specifying, designing,
implementing, marketing and documenting a medium scale software solution in the area of the
programme. The module is designed to help the learner to develop the practical competencies and
communication skills necessary to function as a team member.Learning Outcomes
L01 Develop and market a software application of substance that is required by real-world
client/business/charity in the domain area of the programme. The development process should involve
all phases of the software development life cycle.
L02 Design and document a business plan.
L03 Perform project planning and time management activities to a high project management standard in
order to meet strict project deadlines.
L04 Work as part of a team to develop and enhance interpersonal communication skills and present your
project both written and orally.Project Milestones
Initial market analysis and Project Proposal.
Requirements Specification.
Mid semester Prototype presentation.
Final software product.
Technical Report.
Business Plan.
Final Presentation and demo.Project Bounds
The software project should be completed in teams of 4 learners. Learners are free to select their own
groups.
The project must use PHP and Bootstrap, which will be supported through in-class seminars and
workshops.
The final project is required to be deployed.
Learners must have an 80% attendance record or they will not be in a position to be considered to pass
