ASSESSMENT 3 – 15%
Section 1 – Timeline & Plan Semester 1 & 2 (5%)
Tasks 1 Timeline
TITLE: About 15-20 words that describe the project
This timeline should:
• Describes on a weekly basis, in detail, what it is you are going to do and achieve as outcomes.
• As a minimum, span from Week 1 to Week 12 Semester 1 (including study week) and week1-8
Semester 2
• Clearly identify deliverables and activities in project (For example if used in Assignment 1 or 2)
• . There should be a clear relationship between the methods/approach/activities identified in
Section 1 and the timeline activities and deliverables.
• This should not just be a list of deliverables but any work and milestones that are required to
achieve the deliverables
• Include any deliverable(s) agreed with supervisor for Semester 2
This should be detailed enough to identify on a weekly basis clearly what you are doing and why
Example below:Section 2 – Progress (10%)
This should NOT be a highlighted section from the timeline. Rather it should:
• Explain exactly what you have done (done yourself) – including (but NOT only) what you have
delivered/produced.
• How this has progressed the project – referring explicitly to the Research Template and which
question/activity. Why did you do it?
• Explain how this has reinforced or changed the next semester’s work plan – has it confirmed the
approach, resulted in change to the Semester 2 plan, or just progressed the work.
• Include a conclusion section.
• Include key findings – detailed results may be put in an Appendix – consult with your supervisor
on this.
• Identify key deliverables, test dates, results, draft reports, models, etc with reference to the
timeline
• Do NOT repeat the literature review – what have ‘you’ done.
• Identify any hold points where you will review the work/results to determine if any changes to the
proposed timeline and methodology are required (ie what will you do if the equipment is not
working properly, you are not getting a response to questionnaires, if the software is not working,
etc)
There is no word count though 5 pages should be sufficient (including Gantt chart) – whatever is
required to clearly explain/describe your progress. Discuss with your supervisor if you have any
questions on what is expected in terms of content or length as all projects are different.
