Transition of Technology (10% of the course grade)

The student is required to produce an infographic that will demonstrate their understanding of the transition of a chosen technology though time, from history to present. Infographics are mainly used to convey information through the use of a judicious combination of text (words) and/or graphic images (symbols or pictures). The infographic must convey its message with immediacy and purpose. Use the following guidelines to assist you in the design process.

Guidelines: 1. Historical Transition: History should include a timeline of the development of the technology (when, why and inventor etc.) and how it has transitioned through time. (15 marks)

2. Societal Impacts: The historical and present societal impacts (people, economy, environment etc.) of the technology should also be addressed. (15 marks)

3. Design: The Infographic should be both informative and attractive therefore appropriate design and planning is essential. A good blend of images or graphics and text is highly recommended. There is no word limit but it has to have enough information in it to get you good marks. (5 marks)

4. Referencing: You must acknowledge all sources of information that you have used. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. This should be page 2 of the infographic. (5 marks)

Assignment Due Date: Friday, 04 April 2016. The completed poster should be uploaded as a PDF file onto the 'ePoster Dropbox' on Moodle.
