Assignment Task
Your assignment consists of two tasks: task one is the design and development of website for a car dealer company to sell their cars online (worth 75% of the total marks for the assignment), and task two is a critical self-reflective commentary on task one (worth 25% of the total marks for the assignment).
Task 1
KK Motors was established in 1999 and is a growing UK based auto dealer company. It offers various services such as buying and selling of used cars, parts exchange, and trade-in-a-car and auto accessories. Their decades of successful running business is flourishing and they have managed to expand it to another location.
Being in an age of technology, the management has realized that running their business on words of mouth is not enough and they need a website to attract large number of customers. The company has decided to hire you as an independent web developer to achieve their business goals.
Your role is to, design and create a website that is compatible with all devices, is eye catching, user friendly and creates a strong online presence.
You should design a website for the KK Motors ltd. This should include:
1. Simple yet professional looking interface.
2. System to link the pages ( 9 pages).
3. Site should display welcome message for customers and brief background about the company.
4. User should be able to view pictures of cars and accesories.
5. Site should include an area for customer review about cars.
6. Business hours should also be displayed in table form
7. Some mechanism to receive queries from customers
8. Contact area (preferably address map pulled from Google Map or similar).
9. Some sort of visual/audio prompt to draw customers' attention to latest news.
Deliverables
You should submit a report including design, documentation, the code for the website, screenshots and evidence of validation to Turnitin and Portal. Your submission should consist of the following:
• Design documentations e.g. annotated sketch diagrams/wire-frames; colour schemes and style patterns etc. Your report will show how you have addressed accessibility in your design e.g. checks on user input, different colour patterns for visually impaired, short cuts etc.
• Development e.g. Screen shots of website and the original code for the site in plain text.
• Testing e.g. Cross browser compatibility, link checking, evidence of HTML & CSS validation check and steps taken to remove errors.
• Evidencce of setting up WAMP server to demonsrate understanding of how to upload files on the internet.
Task One is worth 75% of the total marks for the overall assignment. The marking criteria is outlined below.
