1. Regulatory structure in the metropolitan markets in and outside of the United States, and its effect on Uber. 2. Identification of customer problems that Uber is trying to address, business model and the strategy that Uber is trying to use to address customer problems (Hint: analysis of the macro-environment and Uber’s competitive strength). 3. Identification of the competitive structure of the taxi market in a city of your choice (e.g. New York) before the introduction of Uber (Hint: application of Porter’s 5-forces model for mapping out the nature of taxi industry in your chosen city). 4. Identification of Uber’s growth strategy and its associated elements (e.g. focus on cities with “Accelerants”). 5. Identification of barriers to Uber’s growth and the strategies to deal with them including a critical analysis of the adversarial approach that they have taken in dealing with various obstacles. Your report should demonstrate your ability to apply various relevant strategic management frameworks (for example, Porter’s 5-forces, environmental analysis, etc.)
