This assignment has three parts. In Part 1 you will form a group of 3-5 members and each member will prepare a report and send it to the other members of the group. You can network for group members on the ‘Looking for Group Members’ forum. In Parts 2 and 3 you will refer to the reports (your own report and the reports from other members of the group) to answer the set questions. The reports will be marked separately but please include all reports in your assignment with the name of the group member that prepared the report. All reports are required so the marker can see what you are referring to when you answer the questions. When you submit your completed Assignment 2 you will only be able to submit one Word document. Please include all reports and your Parts 2 and 3 in the one document (see ‘How to set out your assignment in one document’ below). Please submit your work in a Word document (Not PDF etc.)
Part 1
(Step 1) Form a group of 3-5 students (You can use the ‘Looking for Group Members’ forum).
(Step 2) Choose an organization or enterprise with at least as many marketing channels as
there are members in your group.
(Step 3) Each member writes a short report about one channel (Not a formal report style)
This report should include the following:
• Sector (Transport, Retail, Government, Health, Education or Charity etc.)
• Name of enterprise / company (Woolworths, Telstra, Centrelink, Oxfam etc.)
• Type of channel (Website, Store, TV, Radio, Email, YouTube, Flicker, Pinterest, Facebook etc.)
• A visual representation of that channel including the Logo (Screen shot or photo of website, blog, Facebook, shop front etc.).
• Type of target market (For example, based on geographic, demographic/socioeconomic, psychographic and behavioral etc. segmentations)
• A short analysis of the channel in relationship to the target market.
(Step 4) Email your report to all other group members (Please Cc yourself and keep a copy).
Part 2
After receiving reports from other members examine the different channels (including your own) and answer the following:
• Would you consider this organization / enterprise to be based on a multi-channel or an omni-channel strategy? Why / Why not?
You are putting forward an argument here so it MUST be based on available evidence and theory.
Part 3
• Choose a different target market (state what it is) and answer the following question:
Would you change the logo for a different target market? Why / Why not? If you argue that it should be changed you could give an example of how it might look. This could be a written description or an image.
