Worth: 30% of the final course grade and which covers Topic 1 and 2.

Written project: Case study (total): Approximately 3,500 words max
You may be marked down for excessive over length work. If necessary, include additional material in Appendices (Appendices AND REFERENCES will not be considered part of the word count).
Marks Returned: Scripts will be available 2 weeks later. Students will receive a grading sheet.
The issue
Taika Waititi was awarded the very top honours that can be bestowed upon a New Zealander in February 2017. He was voted the New Zealander of the year for his movie making efforts and is compared to Sir Peter Jackson for his talents.
QUESTION
Motivate, supported with theory and practical examples, why you think he received this accolade that qualified him to be recognised as an outstanding change agent in New Zealand?

This assignment is about your ability to identify characteristics and requirements of a change agent (being a team) in change management occurring in a real life case. Your actions should be justified with sound reasoning and where necessary supported by theoretical and practical principles of change management. Your understanding of theory will be demonstrated in your ability to evaluate, integrate, synthesise and make deductions relevant to the context of entrepreneurship/ organisation growth and change as it is today

This assignment should be written in an essay format. The grading allocation schedule for the question is presented.

Based on your own analysis develop scenarios that addresses of the critical factors as outlined in the grading schedule.

The essay must be typed and properly referenced using the APA 6th Edition or later version. Your essay should be supported by relevant evidence from journal articles, textbooks, and supplementary information. Clearly state any assumptions you have made in this assignment.
NOTES
Grades are awarded primarily for justified positions, in which sound reasoning, critical analysis, integration and synthesis of ideas and issues with relevant theory are demonstrated. This will include support, where relevant, from appropriate references from the literature and case study. A bibliography of sources must be supplied that includes all references.

This assignment is based on your having read the material relating to Sections 1 and 2 of this course and participated in class discussions related to these sessions.
Overall report presentation
Attach references and any appendices. Up to 10 % will be deducted for poor format, general layout, grammar, spelling or professional impact. Use at least 7 journal references from 2008 onwards.

For an A Grade (80 – 100%)
Content:
A comprehensive and a well planned report clearly meeting all stated objectives. Accurately and succinctly applies a range of relevant concepts, principles, practices and theories. All answers are fully justified and are supported by examples or evidence from the literature and Air NZ case analysis. Can demonstrate the ability to critically analyse and synthesise a comprehensive range of issues and reach supported conclusions. Is able to identify all relevant key issues, processes and contexts and distinguish between the important and unimportant. Answer contains no irrelevant material. Case material updated to current time. Diagrams and figures used effectively, and adapted to the requirements of the report.
Presentation: Report professionally presented and bound. It is well structured, including a contents page, page numbers and a properly referenced text and bibliography. There are no spelling or grammatical errors.
For a B Grade (65 – 79%)
Content:
Answer is relatively comprehensive, and applies many relevant concepts, principles, practices and theories. Answers are adequately justified and are supported by some evidence or examples from the literature and Air NZ case. Can demonstrate the ability to critically analyse a smaller range of issues in order to reach acceptable conclusions. Is able to identify many key issues, processes and contexts. Answer may contain some irrelevant material. Objectives generally met. Diagrams and figures used, but less well integrated into the body of the report.
Presentation: Presentation is very good, but falls short of excellent in several areas.
For a C Grade (50 –64%)
Content:
Understands the topic and can link some concepts, principles, practices and theories. Answers have little justification and support employing evidence from the literature or case material. Can demonstrate the ability to analyse some issues, processes and contexts in order to reach conclusions or recommendations. Answers are descriptive and typically lack any real critical discussion or evaluation. Produces irrelevant material. Objectives not properly addressed. Writing style not appropriate to the requirements of a business analyst. Technical terms used as ‘buzzwords’, without demonstrating a competent understanding of the concept. The level of analysis likely to be insufficient and there is little justification of positions taken.
Presentation: Typed and placed in a folder. Layout is generally clear, but contains spelling and grammatical errors. Careless proof reading is evident.
For a D/E Grade ( E = 0 – 39%, D = 40 –49%)
Content:
Poor answer. Show some understanding of the theory and concepts. Areas will be missing and mismatches may occur between the theory and application to the Air NZ case. Citation is incorrect or inconsistent and typically not citing some of the answers from the literature or provide supporting material from the case. Answer is disjointed and fails to develop arguments and reach conclusions. Objectives not met. Poor flow of logical development and linking of ideas. Some analysis is undertaken but not synthesised into anything of value.
Presentation: Not acceptable, for example, not typed, untidily presented, high level of errors, poor and confusing layout.
