REQUIRED
From the knowledge you have gained in class through speakers, the textbook and your own readings:
1. Consider the conditions required (both in theory and in practice) which enable an entrepreneur to identify opportunities for innovation. Analyse these conditions with a view to summarizing the most relevant in the 21st century. (20 marks)
2. Consider the mindset of an entrepreneur. Evaluate at least two methods of encouraging and promoting innovative/creative thinking in the 21st century. (25 marks)
3. Select two entrepreneurs and compare and contrast their pathways to creating innovative ventures.

4. Select a possible new or existing venture you might wish to undertake. Then carry out the following:
(a) Briefly explain your venture. Select two performance measures which will be relevant to your proposed venture. Demonstrate how these measures will be applied to your venture and evaluate their feasibility in relation to this venture. (20 marks)
(b) Select at least one appropriate tool to value the start-up, or if already started, the developing venture. Apply this tool(s) to your start-up. (10 marks)
Hint: The list of journals given in the Course Information may be helpful in expanding your knowledge of the various conceptual models i.e. if you identify a specific model about which you wish to know more these journals may well be where you will find more articles. You may also find reading about individual entrepreneurs from the reading list is helpful to understand their thinking about how they have developed their own mindset. Please refer to the text book (Frederick, O’Connor and Kuratko, 2016) reference lists at the end of the relevant chapters for further reading.

Work on your assignment each week as we study the learning outcomes whilst the material is fresh in your mind. Please note: approximately 4000 words are required for this assignment. The marking schedule is shown over page to guide you as to how to spend your time.
