UNIT LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THE MAJOR ASSIGNMENT:
Once you have completed this assignment you will be able to:
●Demonstrate your understanding of legal framework of complex infrastructure/building projects within the Australian Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry
●Demonstrate your understanding and attributes in identifying legal risk related to contract, employment and industrial relations (IR) aspects of complex construction projects
●Demonstrate application of your critical analysis skills in identifying potential impacts of breaching contract, employment and IR laws ASSESSMENT TASK
Using the same case study as Part A, each student must prepare a report that includes the following information:
1 .Identify 6inherent risks in both the pre-construction and the construction phase of the project and discuss the possible consequences (including severity) of each risk.
2.For each risk, discuss which party to the contract is best able to control this risk and benefit/suffer should this risk eventuate.
3.Identify the Dispute Resolution process in both the pre-construction and the construction phase of the project and discuss how you would manage thecontract to avoid any disputes occurring

Case Study information is provided on Cloud Deakin in the folder: Resources > Case Study Additional research regarding the case study is encouraged however it is likely that you will need to make assumptions as you develop your assignment response. Please list all assumptions and discuss the possible responses.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS ASSIGNMENT
What you will learn from this task is how identification of risk and adoption of appropriate management strategies early in a project can be used to minimise disputes in a construction project. This will help you in your future career when you need to prepare and administer contracts for a construction project.
FORMAT OF ASSIGNMENT
The report should be presented in a formal report format that conforms to workplace standards, is fully referenced in the Author-Date (Harvard -DU) style and submitted as a single A4 pdf document. Work submitted in other formats will not be marked. This report is to be no more than 2000 words excluding references.
