CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: THE RESULT OF LACK OF A GLOBAL PROTOCOL
Child pornography has two stages, before and after the digital era. In the 1980's the Justice Department noted that it was "close to its eradication, due to strong campaigns carried out at that time". However the technology and development of the Internet have provided the greatest advances to humanity, but at the same time to demonstrate their darkest and immoral sides in history. It is for this reason that through this writing it is desired to discuss and stipulate the lack of a global approach, and an agreement among nations has been the main problem.
UNICEF says "it has reports and data that show profiles of where the victims come from, which countries are the biggest consumers, even to which countries they are tourist destinations for this type of action." (2016) On the other hand, the vast majority of countries in the world already have a section on the subject in their civil codes. However the difference in the age limit to stipulating those who are older or younger is a problem. In order for pornography to begin to be considered childish, it is not the same in all countries of the world. Even within the European Union, there are marked differences. Countries such as Germany or Austria establish that the limit to be recognized as such is up to 14 years, while in the United States it is 18 for certain things or 21 for others (such as to consume alcohol), passing to Spain, Holland or Italy that is at 18, according to several reports from the United Nations (2017). Another important factor is the diversity of aggressiveness of laws in the countries that most promote child exploitation, as in some cases it does not exceed 5 years while in others the limit is 10 years in prison.
In conclusion, this essay seeks to highlight how certain factors affect the moment of diminishing this social evil. For its part it also seeks to explain the importance of the global approach in this matter. In most cases the victims used are poor countries, while their clients are from developed countries.
