Tourism Policy & Strategy/Aviation Policy
Final Assessment
Academic Year 2016-2017
Task
Assessment two will take the form of a closed book examination. The university will give you a place and time to undertake this exercise. This could be anytime between 1st -20thMay inclusive. PLEASE DO NOT ARRANGE TO GO AWAY ON HOLIDAY DURING THESE DATES. THE UNIVERSITY WILL NOT PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE DATE FOR YOU TO SIT THE EXAMINATION.
On the day concerned you will be asked to answer one of three questions. Here the choice of what question you answer is entirely up to you. These questions will reflect each of the three main parts of this module namely:

Because this is a closed book exercise you will not be allowed to take you notes into the room with you. The assessment will be expected to take place in examination conditions i.e. in a quiet and respectful work environment.
You will have two hours to complete this exercise. The assessment will generate 60% of the total marks allocated to this module.
If you have any questions regarding this element of the module assessment please speak to the module tutor as soon as possible.

Guidelines:
You are advised to spend some time thinking about your answer. Previous experience suggests the earlier you start thinking about this task the more successful you will be in tackling your question.
Here a clear plan and elements of an argument are essential. Perhaps it might be a good idea to produce a model answer and try and replicate this on the day.
Scripts should be written in essay format. There is, however, no need to include a bibliography. You simply will not have time.
The examination assistant will collect completed scripts at the end of the session.
Remember you have two hours to undertake this exercise. Plan your answer around this time frame and what you can realistically write in two hours.
If you have any questions please come and see me as soon as possible. Remember staff tend to be very busy during the examination/final assessment period.
