W#09-Ethical Evaluations of Behavior in Therac-25 Case Ethical Evaluations of Human Behaviors in the Therac-25 Computer System Case. As noted in assignment W#08, human behavior always fails at some level of system design, development, implementation, use and maintenance. This can become the deciding factor in system success if we do not recognize our intrinsic imperfections, biases, motivations, goals and limitations. Depending on the consequences of system failure, we must exercise appropriate care, accuracy, and safety. Use the listing of behaviors organized on the basis of the actors (programmers, designers, engineers, doctors, users, etc.) to identify the violations of the ethical codes developed for computer scientists and software engineers. Identify the details of the behavior and specific elements of the code violations. Explain what behavior should have been performed by the actor or actors to conform with the ethical code. Submit this organized, concise and accurate discussion as your final written assignment and final term project. (This assignment substitutes for a final exam.) Prepare your essay using any word processor with grammar and spell checking capability. Conciseness, focus and specificity in your response should be foremost in your writing. Limit the length of your response to no more than 1500 words. Make use of the availability of the various ethical codes in Microsoft Word format to eliminate the need to manually enter the behavior listings prepared in assignment W#08 and the Codes of Ethics contained in the Resources section for this course. Submit your individual essay as a single uploaded rich text file. Do not submit as PDF or exotic file that is unreadable by Microsoft Word. Consult the Standards for written work contained in the Resources for this class.
