1. INTRODUCTION
Decision making is one of the most important part of a corporate firm, because one single poorly chosen decision can lead to the downfall of the entire organisation.Multinational companies and corporate firms which operate under high pressure everyday, need a separate manager for each division and sub division operating to achieve a certain goal.
Purpose of these managers is to take decision after scrutinising the situation. Most of the inexperienced managers stumble under pressure. In such a scenario, the manager has to take a perfectly suitable decision, considering both the time and duration needed to deliver the product.
Now considering Domino’s Pizza Corporation, one of the long chain Pizza enterprises in Australia and New Zealand, almost has more than 700 stores throughout ANZ. The unique feature that differentiates Domino’s Pizza from all the other food corporation is the delivery service.
Time Management is the key in these stores all through their peak hours. Even one bad choice may result in loss of money or the entire order.
2. AIM AND OBJECTIVES
This project aims to investigate the effects of improper decisions in delivering pizza’s in South East Melbourne region.
Evaluate the effects of distance and time management on pizza delivery in South-east Melbourne region.
Effective Management skills required to build resilience of time management during the peak hours.
3. Brief Methodology
The following methodologies will be used in order to effectively analyse the aim of the project. They are
1) Pizza time tracker
The Pizza time tracker is a report showing the total time taken to deliver an order including the time at each station.Time Tracker gives you a detailed report on everyday delivery time and the delay occurring at each station.
2) Daily Order Summary
A DOS has a brief report on the entire day orders including delivery and pick ups. It also has the order time, area and the cost associated wit that particular order. The DOS is closely monitored to maintain a store’s performance and sales.
3) Guarantee Delivery reports
Guarantee delivery reports will have the total number of guarantee orders purchased and failed to be delivered within the time frame. This report indicates the 15 and 20 minute priority deliveries failed to be delivered within the time limit, resulting in loss of the priority money and the entire order as well.
The data report analysis is done by qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative analysis will make use of feedback and complaints from the domino’s online complaint forum and customer feedbacks. Quantitative analysis will make of pie charts, excel sheets and figures generated from the Domino’s Pulse management.
