The Future of Air Transportation
Overview
Business has changed significantly over the years over the years owing to the advancement of technology along with the change in the structure of the marketplace. Research has clearly suggested that in every sector, development has ensured significant change for people at large. For this particular research proposal, the Future of Air Transportation has been considered as the topic of discussion. This has been done mainly with the intention to analyse the importance of air transport in the present-day scenario and the manner in which companies in this sector has been developing immensely.
Question 1
This research has been taken into consideration the topic of Future of Air Transportation. It has been noted that the future of air transportation is largely linked with Airbus being one of the most widely used carrier all over the world. It is believed that by the year 2030, this particular machine will take over as the most widely used machine within the airline industry. In this context, it can be determined that the future of this particular sector can show major development in terms of the use of more and more technology in this particular sector with the advancement of the aerodynamics features of the aircrafts along with developing the look and functioning of the cabins and engines. The structure of the airplane is also expected to change in this context. Furthermore, going by the ever-changing trend of the industry, it can be determined that the taste and preference of the customers within the sector is also expected to show major change in the future.
Question 2
The topic will cover the following aspects:
• The history of air transportation: It discusses about the historical viewpoint of air transportation and how it has changed through history.
• The contemporary Aviation industry: This point will cover the key aspects of contemporary aviation industry including the travelling statistics. It also discusses about the changing industrial requirements of air transportations.
• Impact of Globalisation on Air Transportation: The globalisation has significant impact on air transportation and it determines the future of air transportation. Therefore, this point covers how the aspect of globalisation is influencing the modern air transportation
• The changing situation of Air Transportation: This point will encompass the constantly varying situation which is occurring throughout the world and will give a picture about the future where air transportation is headed.
• Emerging business model of Aviation Company: Finally, this point will cover the key business models which are followed by aviation organisations in current times.
Question 3
In this particular section of the study, focus has been mainly on determining the points that would be covered in the process of conducting and completing this research study based on the given subject. The topic selected for this study is analysing the future of the Air Transportation sector with context to the expected change along with the change in demands of the people or the customers. The points to be covered in this particular study is provided hereunder.
1. Understanding the current trend of air transportation
2. Understanding the nature of air transport being widely used all over the world
3. Analysing the needs and demands of the customers in the current environment of business
4. Evaluating the future estimated trends associated with air transportation
5. Understanding the future of the carriers to be used within this particular sector
6. Illustrating the key advancement in carrier related facilities in the future context with regard to air transportation.
7. Estimating the future change in demands and preferences of the customers in this particular sector.
On the basis of the above points, it can have evaluated that the title to be extensively researchers in this particular study is with regard to how air transformation will advance in the future in terms of customers’ demands and carrier facilities. Correspondingly, the topic of the study would be “Analysis of the changing demands of customers and airline facilities in context to the future of air transportation”
Question 4
In the upcoming decade, aviation organisations will have the opportunity to convert themselves from commoditised service providers of transportation to complete trip coordinators which can cooperate in more lucrative manner with the passengers throughout each phase of the journey. However, in order to do so, aviation organisations will require to develop the customer experience and to recover brand loyalty. By implementing bets practices and making the bets utilisation of existing technologies, aviation organisations will capable for enhancing the services, increasing the revenue, minimising the expenses and satisfying the customers. Technologies such as Wi-Fi facility and social media can assist the industry to enhance the experience of customers at practicable expenses (The Economist Intelligence Unit, 2015).
The future of aviation is also determined by the concept of green transportation because there is increasing concern about CSR and various environmental aspects facing the world. Green transportation is a new thought and an initiative to support sustainable industrial improvement without compromising the environment. It aims to ensure security with a transportation system which leaves little amount of carbon footprint, utilise low power and generates low emission and other damaging pollutants. Cautious planning and concerned design are key components in the accomplishment of green transport in aviation segment. It orders to make it effective, there is need to enhance the effectiveness by operational developments and social accountable economic evaluation of substitutions (Sarkar, 2016).
Globalisation is another aspect which impact on the future of air transportation. The implication of globalisation in its many appearances has been profound for the global aviation transportation segment, not only on the demand portion, but also on the supply portion. In the demand portion, globalisation has shifted the level and the characteristics of global market and in the supply portion globalisation has changed the global cooperation of strategies by different national governments in terms of passenger security and environmental protection. The institutional and technological environment has also changed in which aviation services are provided. Such changes have influenced the ticket prices, aviation services, profits, expenses, market strength and agreement between supplier and customers in the air transport industry.
Question 5
Various research has been conducted with regard to the future of air transportation. Nusca (2015) has determined that Airbus has its vision quite intact in terms of the future of air transportation. The company is much focused towards ensuring that there is significant change in terms of aerodynamic of its carriers in course of time further setting a target for the year 2030. It has been depicted as a prime target for the company to make considerable advancement in its current technical abilities with regard to the carrier functions and likewise bring positive changes within the same immensely. The report of Market Force (2017) has clearly highlighted the issues that has been facing by the current lot of airline carrier. This aspect mainly comprises of the security threats along with terror activities that is often linked with the future of air transport. The report has highlighted that the future of air transport will mainly include exploring the opportunities, challenges and solutions with the change of the industry in the future context. Some of the points that has been stress in this report relates with inner-workings of the airplane which can further strengthen the overall airline sector. Again, as per the research of Becker (2015), the future of air transportation mainly lies with the innovative solutions that is linked with defining the security concerns of this particular sector at large. New technical advancement in the near future can bring the overall sector together towards reaching immense sustainability. The future of this particular sector will also include contributing positively towards the environment and climate change with reducing the emission of CO2 to the environment altogether. This can also be done through reducing the level of fuel use a replace it with less harmful products with the help of continuous technical development.
Question 6
From the brief research that has been conducted in the above sections of the study, it can be clearly stated that a better understanding has been acquired in terms of the overall airline sector with regard to its future operations. One of the key aspects that has been stressed and focused in this context is the level of satisfying the customers in all dimension altogether. This can further include reducing the errors in operations, strengthening the security of the airplane, dealing with terror activities along with contributing towards the society and the environment altogether. All this aspect one way or the other can lead to improving the overall operations of the airline industry at large. The proposed study will mainly focus on defining the key aspects associated with airline advancement at large.
