It can help in the investigation of the affect of intercultural-cultural capability on the multicultural virtual team around the globe. When a company expands its operation in countries other than the countries of origin, it exposes itself to several risks and troubles. By crossing the barriers of nations, language, and culture, a company needs to adapt it to suit the needs of the potential customers. Communication skills are vital factors for the growth of business. Influence of globalization and multi-cultural interaction has raised the need of communication skills, in a remarkable way (Barnett, O'Rourke, & O'Rourke, 2011). Now enterprises cannot communicate within its homogenous culture for long. Nowadays, people give more importance to the collaboration of long distance. UBER, which operates in various countries, faces many hurdles regarding virtual inter-cultural interactions. Globalization has raised the need for globalization and virtual communication, as an important tool of workplace dynamics. The need of the hour is determined to understand the power of several communication media and perform steps or procedures to reap the benefit by their proper implementation. For example, email provides a way to communicate with the team members around the globe, which necessarily does not require face to face communication. Conducting virtual meetings needs a change in the approach, and individuals who are not accustomed to communicating in the groups may feel ignored or lost, which can further deprive them to share the input and feedback. UBER Virtual Intercultural Communication Issues In the globalized world, UBER as an internationally acclaimed transportation network company has to rely on the increasing number of multicultural teams. The organization’s internal virtual communication operations across the globe, therefore, face major challenges regarding intercultural communication. Efficient intercultural dialogues now a day have become the foundation on which success or failure of a global business depends. Moreover, in the era of computer and internet, as well as Smartphone present day’s work ethos is characterized by the development in the field of science or technology. The important factor for a multicultural team, especially global, multicultural team to become healthy is to be intercultural communication competent. UBER being the international transportation brand faces several issues regarding virtual intercultural team communication (Hargie, & Tourish, 2012). UBER manages it virtual communication and multicultural teams of the company in various countries across the world share information with the help of computer or Information Technology. Global, multicultural teams in UBER face significant virtual intercultural communication challenges in the areas such as communication, culture, and technology. Difficulties in building trust, positive relationship through virtual communication between active teams across the globe following geographical boundaries, distance, cultural differences and different time zone in many occasions affecting the UBER’s business operations. The language barrier is also adding difficulties in virtual communication for UBER virtual multicultural teams across the world. Managerial issues are also arising in UBER following difficulties in virtual intercultural communication (Strauss, & Woods, 2007). The company now required to address the arising communication issues with an effective communication model to cope with the rising situation. Meta Communication Model for Addressing UBER Virtual Intercultural Communication Issues Meta-communication means a short of communication that arises when communication breaks. It is an essential section of the communication system. With the increase in diversity, while performing communication actions, the need to provide coordination with information becomes necessary. People from different culture and society have varied expectations and preconceptions with their communicative actions. This is mainly due to their experience and assimilations with their culture of origin. Thus the need of a platform to enhance global communication is a practical issue. A rapid development of media has caused acceleration in the trend of globalization (Heath, & Palenchar, 2009). With the unique and distinctive nature, media has brought interactions among humans to a convenient as interconnected level. Media has unique features like convergence, virtuality, hypertextual. Digitization brought significant change in the media, which resulted in reduced communication costs and increase in communication links. Uber-Company has to look towards assimilation of technology with its expanding business, to facilitate smooth interaction among team members at the global level. As communication is the basic function of the management, which helps in making fair decisions, establishing sound organization structure and, also helps in establishing balanced links with the associates (Schäfer, 2006). A flow of communications helps the employee to get more involved in their work. The Clear and timely flow of communication can assist in preventing any errors in the organizational process. Uber is working, on the global level, with many branches overseas and complex network of organizational process. In this case, the need for proper and efficient communications at each level is much required for the smooth functioning. Training the employee with advanced communication skills, by focusing on meta-communication method, can be helpful for the prosperity of the firm, both on the national and international level. Conclusion The Meta communication model has the solution, as well as potential to address the intercultural communication issues. By adopting and following this model for communication, issues relating to the intercultural communication to the multicultural teams or groups can efficiently be addressed. When technology, especially information technology is used for intercultural communication, the practice is termed as the process of virtual intercultural communication between the global, multicultural teams. Virtual intercultural communication between the global teams comprised of people who belong from different cultural communities can be enhanced by resorting to technology, especially in the case of UBER. The global cab transportation service company by following the Meta communication model of communication and applying the communication model technologically can get rid of arising internal virtual intercultural communication issues (St.Amant, 2007). It is for that has to adopt the Meta communication model, as well as has to add technological aspects to the communication model. In the globalized and technologically advanced world, every model including the Meta communication model can be followed or applied with adding technological aspects to it.
