ASSIGNMENT 3: INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION
The purpose of this assignment is for you to have the opportunity to reflect on your new
understandings about communities, families and children’s learning, health and well-being, and how
this will influence your future practice. It requires you to produce an individual reflection based on
literature, excerpts from online discussions and readings.
LENGTH: 1000 words
DETAILS
This reflective essay is asking you to think about what you have learnt over the semester. You do not
have to answer every prompt question provided, rather focus on what has been most important to you.
Do however make sure you look at the assessment criteria to ensure you have fulfilled all the
requirements. For instance, when you think about the research you have read about, how do you think
it will influence your practices as a teacher, and how is the research influencing policy and practice in
schools and early childhood education and care settings?
Working as part of a group was a major part of this unit. So ...if you think about your experience working
collaboratively, what strategies were effective and what could you do better next time, and how might
this influence the educational leader you will be one day? Review the research, what does it say about
the importance of collaboration for effective program delivery. Link this to what you might do to ensure
you deliver effective services.
In order to complete this assignment you need to:
• Use vUWS to collaborate and share ideas during the semester. Post a comment by week 3 and
contribute at least fortnightly to your group’s online discussions. Please note the content will be
reviewed online and your contribution to the discussion will provide evidence of your
collaboration within your group and this will influence your mark.

contributions and/or your online discussions.
