BA Business and Human Resource Management UGB 250 - Assessment 2016– Group Task & Individual Report Element 1 - You are required to work in groups (4-5). You must select and research an organisation in order to prepare an assessment/ evaluation of the relationship of its HR department with the rest of the business. You are required to produce a 15 minute presentation (all members must present) to cover the following information. Ø Chosen company overview Ø Style, Culture of HR Ø Relationship of HR with rest of the business functions Ø Two detailed case examples of the impact HR policy/practitioners has had on the business and how it has contributed to the competitiveness of the business. Marks will be awarded for use of appropriate academic models and underpinning theoretical content. Marks will also be awarded for the analysis of theoretical writing applied to a real life case presented. Group presentation - 10 marks Element 2 – You are required to provide produce an individual evaluation report of your task in element This should reflect your feelings on the group, the task, how you performed and your peers performed and what you would do differently next time. Academic references around self reflection and self development should be incorporated. (10 marks) You should also provide an evaluation of how well you feel the HR department of the company performed. Evaluate the actions you believe led to the company’s success in your chosen event and what they may have considered which with hindsight may have yielded a better or improved outcome. This should be theoretically underpinned using appropriate HR academic writings. (10 marks) Submission Date :12th May 2017 BA Business and Human Resource Management UGB250 - Assessment Individual Investigative Project You are required to produce a business case for the adoption of a Competency Based Integrated Human Resource Cycle for a company of your choice. Your report should include the following information:- Ø Brief overview of the current structure of the company Ø Current structure of the HR department and its operation of HR policy and practice Ø Business Case for adoption of a Competence based Integrated HR approach Ø An evaluative cost benefit analysis for the proposed changes Ø A draft policy and operating procedure for one area of HR practice Ø Details of how you propose to manage the proposed changes with current staff who have previously showed a resistance to change. All sections require students to utilise/ demonstrate a working knowledge and operational understanding of the appropriate academic models/theory adopted in a real world situation. Surgery sessions will be provided in Semester 2 to discuss and formative feedback can be sought in the preparation of the elements of the Business Case such as evaluative cost/benefit analysis and compilation of the project report.
