Answer ALL of the following questions: Question 1 (16 marks) Human Resource planning must consider the environmental impacts on the organization, it objectives, culture, structure and human resource management. Discuss four (4) environmental trends identified by Stone (2005) for the selected company. Page 5 of 6 Question 2 (20 marks) Evaluate and elaborate on how the Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs can help motivate employees at your selected company. Hint: Students are expected to assess five levels of needs for the employees. Question 3 (15 marks) According to Mathis and Jackson (2000) incentives can be one of the best ways to motivate employees. Propose four (4) types of incentives pay plans which will help motivate at your selected company’s employees. Hint: Students are to identify and elaborate on any of 4 common types of incentive pay plans. Question 4 (12 marks) The working environment of employees is not static and as such there is greater emphasis on the importance of performance appraisal and career planning. Analyze any three (3) points each in this regard, for your selected company. Hint: You should provide three (3) points each in your analysis. Question 5 (17 marks) Using the concept of Job Enlargement, identify the four (4) possible reasons for resistance from employees at the case company if it is introduced. Sources  Require at least 4 academic sources (i.e. textbooks, academic journal articles, etc.), websites of government and/ or international bodies, such as the websites of government bodies and Department(s) of Statistics of respective countries.  Information sources from Wikipedia, Yahoo, Google or unreliable/non-academic sources are not acceptable. 2. Referencing  Use the Harvard style of referencing to cite and reference sources used in the assignment.  Assignments without citations and/or a reference list will not be accepted.  Assignments with more than 40% of direct quotes (with or without analysis) will not be accepted. 3. Format  Essays should be 1.5-line spaced, 12 font sized, Times New Roman and justified alignment.  Headings are encouraged to lead the reader through the researched essay. 4. Marking criteria  Marking of the researched essay will be based on the elements of good presentation, content, evidence of research and logic, an ability to apply relevant concepts to reallife scenarios.  Candidates must be able to show understanding of IOB theories when writing the essay.  Please ensure your assignment does not exceed the maximum overall word length of 3,000 words (+/- 10%). Please indicate the total word count at the end of the assignment.  If the word count exceeds 10% of the stated word limit, 10% of the total marks of the paper will be deducted from the total marks obtained. 5.
