Assessment 2 Reflective essay
Task Description This assessment consists of two (2) parts.
PART 1 is a formative assessment task and requires small groups of students to facilitate a group of their peers in a short session on a topic that will be allocated in workshop A. Individual facilitation skills will be formatively assessed (ungraded) with feedback given by staff and peers to assist students with the completion of Part 2.
PART 2 is a summative assessment task (graded) and requires the student to engage in reflective practice and produce an essay based on their experience of facilitating a group of their peers in a short session in workshop B. Students are to deconstruct the experience using the Gibb’s Reflective Cycle model.
Write an essay that:
• Briefly describes the experience
• Demonstrates how the Gibb’s Reflective Cycle model helped an understanding of self and alternative views in relation to the experience of facilitating a session in workshop B.
• Reveals new understanding around facilitating groups of individuals through analysis of relevant information including journal articles
