HAPPY DOGS PTY LTD RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION POLICY (Last updated: June 2014) Recruitment In the area of staff recruitment and selection, only Michael and Mary Traynor have the authority to hire and interview staff unless otherwise directed. Qualifications All applicants are recruited based on their qualifications, demonstrated ability, experience, and training. Guidelines  Internal applicants who apply for writing for vacancies will receive an interview  Recruitment activities may be conducted externally  An employment interview will be conducted by Michael or Mary Traynor before making an offer of employment  All candidates participating in an interview will be notified of the results  One or preferably two reference checks will be conducted before making an offer of employment  Employment tests may be conducted before making an offer of employment  A copy of the job description will be provided to new employees Mary Traynor is responsible for reviewing applicant's resumes and conducting interviews with selected applicants who would be suitable for program entry and likely to lead to successful associations with the organisation and its clients. All the applicants are considered and a short list established from the final selections made. Staff are selected on the merit of their documented skills and experience. The selected applicant's resume, qualifications, and referees must be validated as certified copies before the offer of employment is finalised. An Acceptance Letter of Employment agreeing to the conditions of the letter of offer is also issued to the applicant together with an Employee Personal Record Form. The letter and forms are to be completed by the applicant and returned to Mary Traynor prior to commencing employment. Employment offers Offers will be written and include all terms of employment including: job titles, start date, rate of pay, pay period information and eligibility for benefits.
