So turning our minds to Assessment Two.
This is the kind of paragraph that should be supplied in the ‘Outline of Problem with Recommendations’ (see below).
“The findings of Dibrell, Craig and Neubaum (2013) that strategic planning and the innovativeness of organisations are positively related ensures that strategic planning and a written vision statement are vital to the establishment of a new business. A formal planning process involving all stakeholders is recommended to ensure that a contemporary management challenge such as innovation is addressed. Taherparvar, Esmaeilpour and Dostar (2014) go on to say that knowledge from customers has a positive impact on both innovation speed and innovation quality. Knowledge from customers about their approach to animal welfare and disposal of uneconomic animals would be important in developing an animal welfare policy for the riding school. Ensuring that customers, as stakeholders, are included in the strategic planning process is likely to improve the outcome and differentiate the riding school as an innovative new organisation in the market."
These are the references that would need to be supplied in the ‘References’ list. Note the DOIs – this is necessary for an excellent mark in Criteria Five for Assessment Two. Except they should include italics where appropriate, indentation in your reference list and DOIs.

The key is to complete a lot of research (peer reviewed journals) for Assessment Two so that you can provide a comprehensive response. You must get started on this today. These are the types of headings I was thinking would be necessary for a good report of 2500 words for Assessment Two MGMT11109.
You will need a
• Title page (not generally part of a report - but at University this is required – not included in word count)
• Executive summary
• Table of contents
• Statement of the Problem
• Purpose and Scope of Work (200-300 words approx.- see below)
• Outline of Problem with Recommendations (this is the main area of the Report – see below)
• ‘References’ List (not included in word count)
The Bovill and Thill resource on the front page of moodle will also assist. Just a few further comments.
Re-watch the Jeff DeGraff video from Week One in moodle about the CVF. I have repeated the link here.

The Management Report needs to be preferably 2500 words. Please see the “WHAT YOU NEED TO DO”. Contemporary management challenges are mentioned in the criteria sheet (Criteria Two) and that students need to address this for Assessment Two. Further information can be found in the text p. 295-307. All elements of the Unit – particularly week 6-12 are assessed in Assessment Two.
The Purpose and Scope of Work
This is where you outline a summary of the basic concepts, principles and theories of management that you plan to use to solve problems and provide solutions for the riding school. It is an overview (200-300 words) and should be written after the ‘Outline of Problem and Recommendations’ see p. 294 of Bovee and Thill.
Outline of Problem with Recommendations
This is the meat of the report and by far the largest element of the Management Report. You need to be comfortable with writing recommendations (see p. 294-295 of Bovee and Thill).
