MN691/ME603 Project 1 Assignment 1a. Literature Review Part 1. Due date: Week 3 Marks = 5% TOPIC Online Identity of Persons in a Social Network Site Most current social network sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) can only identify individuals based on queries. In that sense, a clear identity of the person instead of the identity of the device being used by the person is required. In this project a more secure identity of the person which combines the biometric features of the person with other identity attributes (mobile phone number, IP address of device etc.) will improve recognition of persons in social network sites. To date no social network site has this type of identity. However, it is possible to require the combination of for example the person’s fingerprint for clear identity and authentication.
