Scenario for assignment 2: The CEO of a multinational automobile company has reviewed the recent trends in disruptive innovation that may impact the future of her business. This includes but is not limited to autonomous cars, ridesharing and peer-to peer car sharing services. In addition, the increasing cost of petrol and lack of, or expensive car parking spaces are external issues she needs to consider. She recently received a report, indicating that people may no longer need or want to have own a car. This poses a serious threat to her company and the industry in general. The suggestion is that the car industry, as we know it today, will be obsolete in 20 years. Traditionally, she has only had to contend with direct competitors.
