If you know your National Insurance number you can use your personal tax account to view it there and print a confirmation letter.

Where to find your National Insurance number You may be able to find your National Insurance number on: • your P60 End of Year Certificate (given to you by your employer) • your payslip • a copy of your Self Assessment tax return • other HMRC letters and forms about tax, pensions or benefits Please note - your National Insurance number cannot, on its own, be used to prove your identity. Do not fill in this form if you have never had a National Insurance number before. You should automatically get a National Insurance number just before your 16th birthday. If you didn't get one and you're under 20, phone the National Insurance helpline. If you're over 20, you need to contact the National Insurance number application line and apply for a National Insurance number. To apply for benefits without a National Insurance number, contact Jobcentre Plus instead.
