Do not write your name anywhere on your work. Write your student ID number in a header at the top of every page.  All tasks must be submitted in a single document.  You must not exceed the word limit of 1500 words and should not write less than 1300 words. SUBMITTING YOUR ASSIGNMENT:  You must submit your assignment using Turnitin software and obtain a receipt. Work cannot be uploaded on Turnitin after the stated date and time, and will receive a mark of 0% unless an extension has been approved in advance of the deadline.  Requests for short-term extensions will only be considered in the case of illness or other cause considered valid by the Student Adviser ([email protected]). These must normally be received and agreed by the Student Adviser in writing at least TWENTY-FOUR (24) hours prior to the deadline. Task Details  The task is divided into three sections.  You must complete all three of the sections.  All completed work must be submitted through Turnitin as a single document file. Research You must research these topics using national newspapers. These can be either print newspapers or online. You must indicate in your work where your information comes from. You are working as a research analyst in a large UK based company. Your Director has asked you to prepare a series of three briefing notes that consider key issues affecting business. The broad focus for your briefing notes should be as follows. Note that you must not use the topics that are given as examples. Briefing Note 1: This should focus on a political or economic issue that you have learned about in class. An example of a political issue would be “an increase in support for far right wing parties.” Briefing Note 2: This should focus on a social or environmental, or ethical issue that you have learned about in class. An example of a social issue might be “reduced rates of immigration to the UK.” Briefing Note 3: This should focus on a legal or technological issue that you have learned about in class. An example of a technological issue might be “Teens obsessed with smart phone apps.” Each Briefing Note should aim to provide your Director with an overview of the issue and consider its likely effect on the business.
