MKTM033 Assignment 1 – PJ1 Opportunity Analysis
1. Briefing
I did a quick google using the term ‘opportunity analysis’ and I randomly pick the website www.invesorwords.com. Acording to this website, opportunity analysis is an extension of the business plan process that focuses on identifying future opportunities and assessing the organisation’s financial, technological and competitive readiness to exploit them. The process includes identifying unmet or underserved customer needs, identifying target markets, assessing competitive advantages and assessing the company’s resource capacity in meeting the market needs.
For this assignment, you are required to produce a ‘professional’ standard Opportunity Analysis. You are expected to research the various structures of standard opportunity analysis report and chose the one mostly suitable to your business opportunity/model. For a first impression and your convenience, the structure of an opportunity analysis report (Meng 2016) is presented below:
Please access the relevant Workshop Materials on the module website and your notes taken during the workshop that expand on each of these components.
The word count should be 2000 words excluding charts, survey material and other appendices. It is also a requirement that you use the Harvard reference style.
The assignment must be submitted on-line by 9 June 2017.

The opportunity analysis will be assessed on:
